What Brilliant Headlines!

This made me laugh, that's for sure! It's better than reading about crime or immigrants.



I didn't get a copy of the paper (unfortunately!) so not sure what all the fuss is about to be honest - although I have to say we have sheep on a field next to the boat and they can be noisy sods at night!!

Nothing much to report really. Today I did a food shop to get stocked up for the week, including a trip to our butchers which usually ends up with a 20 minute natter about this and that. We had a quick coffee in town too, along with a pastry, as it was quite early still and we only had some yogurt for brekkie.

We keep having the odd snow flurry which usually stops almost as soon as its started but its still as cold as anything, meaning I can't get on with anything that I need to do that's boat related. However, I think the batteries are due for an electrolyte top-up so that'll be done tomorrow hopefully.

I won't do anything else today now apart from cook dinner, with Dancing on Ice and a glass of red wine as my company as Pawel is at work!

    Hi, Sorry to bother you, but for some reason your blog seems to be posted multiple times. This post appeared 3 times in google reader.Previous posts have usually appeared twice. It doesn't happen with any other blogs I follow. Anyway, keep posting, as I enjoy reading.

    Hi I've sometimes noticed this on my own blog roll and am not sure why its appearing multiple times??! Still on to that one! Not sure if its when I go back and edit something because I see a spelling mistake etc.

    Hi both, you asked ?:- we were on the Macc 7th August last year we posted a blog " On the Mac -that's the canal - not the burgers " we had a brill time, and Stein's brother joined us at Marple. Was a shame we missed you. No plan to return yet, as we onto London way now, then river Lee & Stort, later in year we shall head north, we still have many canals we have not yet discovered. Where Can I Begin?

It's been nearly 9 months since I last blogged and I can't actually believe it's been that long - feels like it was just a few weeks ago really. At this stage then, I'm not sure if there'll be any readers out there, but I suppose if I want to carry on chronicling life on the boat, I need to make a start somewhere! I think the reason for the lack of blogging is, in part, because I was boring myself (never mind anyone else that reads it!) and it was starting to feel a bit too personal. I seemed to be detailing my life over the internet for anyone to read and I suppose in some ways, I was starting to get a little uncomfortable with that. However, that's what blogging is, I know! It's a diary of sorts, which is obviously only one 'facet-of-a-diamond' in terms of "our life", but still somewhat a diary and not what I initially thought would be just a way of referencing what we had done or had fitted (etc) in the boat. Make use of time, let not advantage slip - William Shakespeare

Even on Boxing Day we manage to find time to do some "boaty" jobs! We basically finished off the wiring-in of the new small inverter that we've fitted on a 12v cigarette socket directly to the batteries for the TV and aerial. We still had the thick cable hanging down the wall to the sockets which looked a bit of an eyesore and I couldn't bear it any more! It all looks neat and tidy now and we've really noticed an improvement with the battery capacity. With everything we usually have on, using the main inverter was taking around 10-13% out of the batteries an hour, which was way too much! With this new inverter we are only using around 3 or 4% an hour which means a lot less engine running time ! It's fantastic. I think this also shows that it WAS the main inverter that was using the battery capacity and the batteries aren't knackered after all! So if there's any people out there who are planning on getting a new inverter or are fitting a boat out etc, D
