It's Definately Arrived!

Spring that is! This morning was still with no winds, the sun was out and at 9AM this morning the weather station told us it was already nearly 10 degrees.

We hopped off the boat to let the dog out (cherishing having our own bit of land once again - still feels like a dream not having people walking past the windows!) and decided that it was definately a morning to have breakfast outside:

Coffee, fruit juice, muffins, fruits and yogurts - all outside in the sun, with no one coming past the boat and commenting how "nice" our breakfast looked or getting into mundane conversation - I felt like I was on holiday!

And what a view

It feels too good to be true and it makes me wonder if we will bother doing any cruising this year as its unlikely we'll find anywhere as nice and as private as here.

We didn't spend the rest of the morning doing much else really - just say out with the radio on and enjoying the warmth and sun.

I did try and make friends with the local ducks here by giving them some old bread and we did plant a few new seeds in the propagator as some of the old ones died or never germinated.

Other than that there was nothing else to do but just enjoy the present and just try and rest my leg which really does seem to be getting worse. It's getting more and more painful but apparently my op should be in late may some time!

I've got a curry for tonight, a glass of wine and a bit of TV and that's me done! We will start looking at doing things on the mooring next week when Pawel is off.

We plan on hAving a gravelled area and also a raised bed to grow some of our veg in (lettuce patch, carrots, dwarf beans, peppers and cucumbers) and we will need to get a move on if we want to grow and eat some of this stuff this year!!

  1. I do enjoy your blog! And you've inspired me to go to our boat for the weekend - planning a long cruise later this spring or early summer. I wanted to live on it but D is not keen to leave the house permanently - so we compromise!

    1. Hi Andrew

Cheers for the comments - I've seen them both and thanks for the compliment ;) at least it means I'm not writing into the abyss!

Go for the cruise - it sounds like a plan, and whoever 'D' is, I'm sure there'll come a time when they do want to live aboard - happens to em all eventually !!
